Your Role:

Reporting to the National Health & Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in workplace safety, ensuring compliance with OHS legislation and company policies. This role requires significant travel to various sites, conducting inspections, audits, and training to uphold safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop & Implement Safety Programs – Establish and enforce health & safety policies across all locations.
Site Safety Audits & Inspections – Conduct workplace audits, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations.
Incident & Claims Management – Investigate workplace accidents/incidents, manage WCB claims, and oversee return-to-work programs.
Training & Employee Development – Deliver WHMIS, Respirator Fit Testing, Asbestos Awareness, and other safety training programs.
Compliance & Reporting – Maintain accurate safety documentation, audits, and training records.
Stakeholder Communication – Serve as the primary OH&S contact, providing on-site coaching and compliance support.
Health & Safety Committee Leadership – Lead quarterly meetings, conduct inspections, and ensure all corrective actions are completed.
Process Improvement – Monitor safety trends, analyze data, and recommend preventative measures to reduce workplace incidents.
COR Certification & Audits – Maintain and ensure compliance with COR requirements, conducting internal and external audits.

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Education & Certifications:
• Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health & Safety (preferred).
• COR Certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of COR and OHS legislation (preferred).
• Provincial Health & Safety Certification (preferred).

✔ Experience & Industry Knowledge:
• 2+ years of Health & Safety experience (preferably in construction/restoration).
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
• Experience with WCB claims management & return-to-work programs.
• Background in developing and delivering safety training programs.

✔ Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and safety tracking systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to job sites.
