**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Part-time Bookkeeping and Accounting Coordinator at McMaster Divinity. This role is responsible for managing the church's financial records, processing donations and payments, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process donations and received funds by ensuring timely entry into PowerChurch and QuickBooks, coordinating volunteer counters, and preparing bank deposit slips.
  • Perform fund reconciliations between QB and PC – weekly, monthly, quarterly, and at year end, and provide weekly giving reports to the Senior Pastor and Treasurer.
  • Process payments, payroll, and cheques by following established procedures, printing cheques, distributing/mail cheques when necessary, and processing bi-monthly payroll cheques for staff.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including income/expenditure statement, balance sheet, comparative reports, and other required reports.
  • Assist the Treasurer in preparing for the annual audit, close FY entries, document & file, and prepare T3010 Charity Annual Return annually.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education an asset
  • Proficiency in PowerChurch and QuickBooks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
