• *About the Role:**
We are looking for an experienced and organized Bookkeeper Unionville Alliance Church to join our team at Mcmasterdivinity. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be proficient in PowerChurch and QuickBooks, and have a strong understanding of accounting principles.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Key Responsibilities:
• Donation Management:
• Enter weekly contributions into PowerChurch (PC) & QuickBooks (QB)
• Coordinate volunteer counters of Sunday offerings
• Prepare bank deposit slips for processed donations
• Liaise with donors regarding giving numbers and envelopes
• Perform Fund reconciliations between QB & PC
• Prepare weekly giving reports for the Senior Pastor and Treasurer
• Process donation tax receipts annually
• Payment and Payroll Management:
• Process payables, including invoices and cheque requisitions
• Print cheques and distribute/mail cheques when necessary
• Process all Payroll-related transactions using QB payroll module
• Liaise with benefits representatives regarding staff benefits plans
• Financial Reporting and Compliance:
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including Income / Expenditure Statement and Balance Sheet
• Prepare HST return / rebates application (semi-annually)
• Assist leadership team in preparing the annual budget
• Fiscal Year-End (FYE):
• Assist the Treasurer in preparing for the annual audit
• Closing of FY, including auditors' adjusting entries and closing entries
• Other Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with IT regarding QB & PC software updates/maintenance
• Keep accurate documentation & records per C&MA and CRA guidelines
