We specialize in executing mining projects in North America and internationally and are part of a global contracting group. With offices in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Nevada, Thyssen Mining is a leader in the underground mine engineering and construction industry with expertise in all aspects of underground mining including shaft sinking, mine development, mine production, and underground construction. This is an in office position working Wednesday to Sunday at our corporate head office located in Regina, SK.

The Safety Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the safety department, through the completion of data collection and reporting alongside clerical tasks in a timely manner. Maintains departmental paperwork and electronic filing systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Assist management in the administration, implementation and maintenance of a Health & Safety Management Systems.
• Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
• Prepare monthly health and safety performance and activity reports
• Review, develop and format safety related documents;
• Maintain records of pertinent safety related inspections, equipment and meetings.
• Maintain records of proactive HSE observations, statistics, initiatives and incident reports;
• Input of incident investigations from operations and assist with documentation of subsequent reports and recommendations;

• Confidentiality of sensitive information is a requirement of the role.
• Liaise with other departments as required to fulfill the requirements of your position.
• Other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications
• Previous experience working in an office environment.
• Excel in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Able to use a variety of computer software, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Display analytical and decision-making skills
• Results and action oriented
• Strong communication skills; ability to interact productively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates
• Demonstrated understanding of the importance of displaying and promoting a “safety first culture” of Zero Harm
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Sound judgement skills, including ability to prioritize workload.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relations.
• Self-motivated and team oriented.
• Knowledge of training programs, especially Ontario Common Core is an asset.
• Coordinate and support site safety administrators & safety coordinators.
