**Summary of Duties**:
The full-time HR Officer will provide HR guidance to managers and supervisors in both union and non-union settings and work collaboratively with the larger leadership team to promote and advance the mission, values and strategic direction of the organization. Responsibilities include executive oversight of the human resources department, developing and maintaining accredited HR best practices, ensuring a safe and welcoming working environment for all staff and creatively promoting wellness and training supports. • *Requirements**:
- Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred but not required (Masters preferred) or CHRL designation
- 5-plus years of senior HR experience; demonstrated ability to serve at an executive level team
- Excellent mediation and conflict management skills; restorative practices experience an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence; excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff and teams
- Teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- A philosophy of service that is in line with Communitas’ Vision, Mission and Values
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
- Flexibility in working hours: Participation at meetings, events may involve evening/weekend work
