John Lewis Partnership is a leading UK retailer committed to providing exceptional customer service. We are seeking a motivated and team-oriented individual to join our night shift grocery replenishment team as a Supermarket Assistant.

Salary

As a Supermarket Assistant, you will be paid a competitive hourly rate, with the opportunity to earn additional income through shift premiums for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of product availability and presentation on store shelves. This includes restocking products, checking expiration dates, and implementing markdowns to minimize waste. You will also play a key role in supporting the wider shop team during peak periods, including assisting with online order fulfillment and managing Click & Collect orders. Additionally, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and tidy working environment by performing general shopkeeping tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
• Stock replenishment - ensuring our shelves remain as full as possible and products are in the right place at the right time for our customers.
• Fulfilling online customer orders ready for our drivers to deliver their shopping direct to their doors.
• Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns to those reaching their sell by dates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers. A flexible approach to ensure the support of the whole branch is also essential. While experience of working in a customer-facing role is welcomed, we are happy to train the right candidate. Up-to-date knowledge and a strong interest in food and drink trends are desirable but not required.

Benefits:

This part-time night position offers 10 or 20 hours per week, with working Saturdays only 20:00-07:00 or Thursdays and Saturdays 20:00-07:00.
